If someone you love is afflicted with Alzheimer's Disease or a related disorder, tragically their ability to perform the activities of daily living gradually diminish, making it impossible for them to function independently or, to be cared for at home. At Oak Creek Terrace, we understand the special needs of the Alzheimer's resident. We are dedicated to providing an area specifically designed for the memory impaired, allowing as much personal freedom as possible, yet sensitive to their needs for security and safety in a small controlled area which has been proven to meet the needs of Alzheimer's residents. Spacious private and semi-private accommodations are available where residents may feel welcome by bringing a few mementos from home. Attractively decorated dining and lounge areas provide a calm and pleasant environment. Our staff receive extensive training in the care of the Alzheimer's resident and are scheduled at a higher ratio of staff than what is normally found in the traditional Alzheimer's facility. We provide special attention to each resident's physical, spiritual, and social needs. Each individual program is therapeutically designed, from the simple pleasure of planting a flower to an outing in the Terrace van. Activities such as: Current Events, Fun and Fitness, Art and Music Enjoyment, Manicures, and Outdoor leisure events are meaningful and satisfying to our residents while still within their individual capabilities. |
